Professional Background
Dr. Sebastian Carrasquillo is a bilingual interventional cardiologist who specializes in treating heart conditions such as coronary artery disease, vascular disease and structural heart disease using catheter-based procedures.
After earning his medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico, Dr. Carrasquillo completed his residency in internal medicine at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System. He then completed
a cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, followed by a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the same institution. He is also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Carrasquillo is experienced in a wide range of procedures for treating cardiovascular disease, including atherectomy, coronary stenting, intravascular imaging, limb salvage, pericardiocentesis, peripheral vascular stenting, radial and femoral cardiac catheterization, thrombectomy, transesophageal echocardiogram, or TEE, with cardioversion.
His clinical interests include acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, chest pain, peripheral vascular disease, claudication (poor leg circulation), acute, chronic and critical limb ischemia, heart failure, nuclear cardiovascular imaging and preventive cardiovascular medicine.
