Tara King, APRN, ACNPC-AG, CCRN

Tara King is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certified through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She was a certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) for eight years prior to earning her Nurse Practitioner degree from Jacksonville University in 2023.

Tara joined First Coast Heart & Vascular in September 2025. Before joining the practice, she worked as a pulmonary critical care nocturnist for two years at Baptist Beaches through Jax Lung Clinic/HNI.

A Pennsylvania native, Tara graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and Physical Education. She spent 10 years working in sales and marketing across industries ranging from sports to medical publishing before relocating to Florida with her family in 2011.

After moving to Florida, Tara discovered her passion for nursing. She enrolled at St. Johns River State College, earning her RN in 2016 and her BSN in 2020.

In her current role, Tara focuses on inpatient care. She collaborates with First Coast Heart & Vascular physicians to perform patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and manage treatment for a variety of cardiac illnesses.

Outside of work, Tara enjoys spending time with her family. She loves watching her husband coach and cheering on her two sons as they play football. She also enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time outdoors.
